Welcome
to the W2NAF Ham Radio Station
May 13,
2004
Whoah! An update! Yes,
and
believe it or not, I actually have my own domain name now.
http://www.w2naf.com
is now officially open for business.
Camp preparations are well underway. It seems like it is just around the corner.
Also, the Ramsey EOC has now officially
been renamed the Ramsey OEM
Clubhouse. The name is much more
fitting. Anyway, you can find what
the weather is like there at the following address: http://ramseynj.lifeonedge.com:81/. And
yes, as you can see, there are some unfortunate souls who live in a
world in which
their ISP blocks port 80. I guess
they will just never know the real joy of running a website from home J.

And a new semester begins!
I can’t believe it is here already. I
have to say I had an excellent break, which included a two
week trip to
Well, the new semester once again offers
many new and exciting
opportunities. I have a myriad of
classes, many Phi Mu Alpha Activities, and some radio, scouting, and
general
fun stuff.
Also, this server is no longer running Red
Hat 8.0, but rather
Fedora. Fedora is the project that
has replaced Red Hat Linux for the Home User. You
can visit the website of Fedora at http://fedora.redhat.com. I am not sure if you would consider it
an upgrade, but it was a necessary change.

This semester
is almost over… I just have
one more set of papers to write
and one more final. I cannot wait
until it is all over!
If anyone is
interested in
hearing my final project for orchestration class (an arrangement of the
Dog –
Cat Polka), please click here.

Ok, I am back again! I know that I have not updated this page since last spring, however I have been away for most of the summer. I don’t expect to write too much here in the up and coming months, but then again you never know…

I
have just written another small musical exercise
for
Music Theory IV class. It is not
only a strict canon, but also a round.
I think it is an interesting piece to listen to, although I am
sure that
it breaks all sorts of theory rules. The
midi voicings have been changed from horn to
marimba and choral “Ooos” in order to achieve a more desired effect.

Believe
it or not, I have actually added some more content to this web site
(Yes, I
think I can now call it a site J…). There is now
a new menu bar at the top,
which allows access to ham radio articles, QSL updates, and my forum. Please check it all out, and thanks for
stopping by!

Let’s see, I can have some fun with politics, too. Because both of my parents are teachers, and I am currently studying to be one, I am always in support of teacher rights and fair salaries. That is why my heart was gladdened when my father handed a copy of this document. This creative little analysis by an anonymous writer helps to put into perspective what a fair teacher salary should be. J

If I were a Dead Russian Composer, I would be Igor Stravinsky. Known as a true son of the new 20th Century, my music started out melodic and folky but slowly got more dissonant and bizzare as I aged. I am a traveler and a neat freak, and very much hated those rotten eggs thrown at me after the premiere of "The Rite of Spring." Who would you be? Dead Russian Composer Personality Test |

Ok,
it is now time for a little update to the website.
Therefore, all previous articles/entries have been moved to
an archive page. This
will have to be better organized eventually, but this
will work for now.
Hopefully,
I will create/assemble some additional content for this page in the
next few
days. We’ll just have to wait and
see…
